Building a Robot

Image
Since the beginning of the introduction of Evo-bot , our new robofriend, we've been working on the building of the robot itself and the different parts and tools to do so. Through stories we've learned the following characteristics of a robot: - Robots need batteries, they don't eat human food. - Robots need to be built by us, by assembling the different parts of the body together. While assembling the robot we learn the following vocabulary: - Engine - Wheels - Cable - Screw - Battery  To build  Evo-bot we needed a special tool, The Screwdriver.  We learn important facts about this tool: - We use it only with the supervision of an adult - The tool has different heads depending on the shape at the top of the screw. The head shape of the screwdriver shouldmatch the head of the screw; the shape for Evo-bot is a cross (x). - If we turn it to the left it opens , if we turn it to the right it closes ...

Our New Super Hero The Firetruck

We learned how firefighters are always risking their lives to save humans and animals in need when there's a fire going on. During the month of  February we got to help trees and animals in need with the help of our friend the Firetruck. We practiced our coding skills by learning a new command ' water gun ' and using it to put off fires that endangered mother nature. We listened to stories and learned that smoking cigarettes is a yucky habit and that if you throw it in the forest it can start a fire that may hurt cute animals such as our friend Kiku the monkey. The commands we used were the following: - up - down - left - right - watergun To download the Kidlo Coding for Kids App  click here
