Building a Robot

Since the beginning of the introduction of Evo-bot, our new robofriend, we've been working on the building of the robot itself and the different parts and tools to do so.

Through stories we've learned the following characteristics of a robot:

- Robots need batteries, they don't eat human food.
- Robots need to be built by us, by assembling the different parts of the body together.

While assembling the robot we learn the following vocabulary:

- Engine
- Wheels
- Cable
- Screw
- Battery

To build Evo-bot we needed a special tool, The Screwdriver.
We learn important facts about this tool:

- We use it only with the supervision of an adult
- The tool has different heads depending on the shape at the top of the screw. The head shape of the screwdriver shouldmatch the head of the screw; the shape for Evo-bot is a cross (x).
- If we turn it to the left it opens, if we turn it to the right it closes

We also practiced how to build a robot with Lego, after listening to the story of The Caterpillar who needed help getting the apple from the tree. We put our creativity to the test and build different robots to help our slow little friend the caterpillar.
